- When we subtract two numbers we must keep following Rules in our mind 

Eg  5  - 3  =  2 

RULE 1 -

See the sign (+ , - )

RULE 2 -

Find the bigger number - 5 

Now , find the smaller number - 3

RULE 3 

Now , keep bigger number (5)  in your mind and smaller  ( 3) number on your fingers

Count backwards  from  the bigger number , that is 5 . 5 - 4- 3 - 2 

So , the answer is 2 .
